Background and Challenges

"Responsible Business Alliance" (RBA) lists a variety of standards to ensure a safe working environment in the electronics industry supply chain, workers are treated with respect and dignity, and that manufacturing processes are environmentally responsible.

 

RBA within the meaning of the electronics industry, including original equipment manufacturers (OEM), electronics manufacturing services (EMS) company with original design manufacturer (ODM), as well as providing design, production and sales of electronic products, manufacturing and / or goods and services labor contracting. Any business in the electronics industry may be voluntarily adopted this criterion, and applied to its supply chain and subcontractors.

 

RBA basic principle is: all activities of enterprises must comply with its operating country / region laws and regulations. In addition to the guidelines encourage participants to comply with the law, but a positive move towards internationally recognized standards, in order to take on more social and environmental responsibility. In the "Responsible Business Alliance" Sustainable development and implementation, participants should commit to feedback from stakeholders on a regular basis to charge.

 

RBA consists of five parts. A, B, C, respectively section outlines the labor, health and safety, and environmental standards. Section D outlines the required conformity with the guidelines of appropriate management system elements. Section E adds standards relating to business ethics.
