Background and Challenges
Energy management system is from the whole process of starting the system, follow the principles of system management, through the implementation of a complete set of standards, norms, and establish a complete and effective, documented energy management system within the organization, focusing on the establishment and implementation of control so that the organization's activities, processes and elements continuously optimized by routine energy monitoring, energy audits, energy efficiency benchmarking, internal audit, energy measurement and testing organization, organizational energy balance statistics, management review, self-evaluation, energy-saving technological transformation , energy assessment and other measures to continuously improve the energy management system and improve the effectiveness of policies and commitment to achieve energy management and achieve the desired goal of energy consumption or use.
International Organization for Standardization (ISO) on June 15, 2011 officially announced ISO50001: 2011 "Energy management systems - Requirements with guidance for use." The standard release the energy management system will have a milestone in the promotion and application of international level. ISO50001 will provide public and private organizations to improve energy efficiency, reduce costs and improve energy performance management strategy. ISO50001 provides a framework for the organization will be able to combine efficiency and management practices, all kinds of international organizations will be implemented in an organization, and to reconcile the single standard that will provide the organization to identify and implement energy efficiency improvements methods.
ISO50001 Scope
ISO50001 energy management standards will involve the following areas:
- Energy supply
- For purchasing energy systems and equipment Practice
- Energy use and related issues Disposal
- Existing energy usage monitoring
- Monitoring system after the execution documentation and reporting
- Verify energy management system of continuous improvement opportunities
ISO50001 standard is widely used in industrial plants, commercial facilities or entire organizations energy management, especially in the steel, metals, coal, electricity, chemical, construction, paper, textiles, cement and other industries.
ISO50001 Requirements
ISO50001 is the ISO management system model (as applied by millions of organizations worldwide ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22000, ISO27001) based development and design. ISO50001 using PDCA cycle for continuous improvement of energy management systems. These features allow organizations to the energy management system and overall performance combine to help improve the quality, environmental and other management systems. ISO50001 provides a framework requirements, requires organizations:
- Development and design of more efficient energy use policy.
- Determine compliance with the goals and targets of energy policy.
- Use data management to better understand energy use and consumption situation and make a decision.
- Measurement results.
- Reviewing the effectiveness of energy policy.
- Continuous improvement of energy management.
